The correction this page exists to make: a county name does not settle delivery, and neither does a mailing town. The ZIP code entered at checkout is what arranges delivery for an address, and two properties in the same county can return different answers.
The Baltimore mix-up, and other addresses worth reading twice
Baltimore City is an independent city. It is not part of Baltimore County, and the two are separate jurisdictions for codes and for addressing, so an address in one should never be checked as though it were in the other.
The same care applies elsewhere. Plenty of Maryland properties carry a mailing town that sits in a different county from the land, rural addresses on the Eastern Shore and in Western Maryland especially. Work from the ZIP on the delivery address rather than from the town you would write on a letter.
How an address actually gets checked
Delivery is arranged at checkout from the ZIP code you enter, and the order is matched to a supplier in the network near that address. An agent then contacts you to confirm the exact delivery address, which is the step that gets the address itself right rather than only the area around it.
If the address is a new lot, a shared lane or a site with no number yet, send the ZIP and the nearest cross street through contact and it can be looked at before you order. Access matters as much as the ZIP: a loaded dump truck needs a clear route and firm ground to tip on, which is set out on the delivery page.
Once the address checks out, work the layers through the calculators and pick the tonnage on the catalogue.
Common questions
Does seeing my county named anywhere settle whether a tandem comes?
Not on its own. The ZIP entered at checkout is what arranges delivery, and availability can differ inside a single county, so check the exact delivery ZIP rather than relying on the county name.
The billing address and the site are in different ZIPs. Which do I use?
The one the truck is going to. Enter the site ZIP as the delivery ZIP, and keep the billing details separate, otherwise the delivery is being arranged against the wrong address.
There is no house number on the lot yet. What do I do?
Send the ZIP, the nearest cross street and a description of the entrance through the contact form, along with a photograph of the approach if you have one, and the delivery can be looked at against the actual access.
